Unedited transcripts of oral history interviews conducted by Rayna Rokicki as a project under the auspices of the Wisconsin Idea Undergraduate Fellowship Program and the Wisconsin Historical Society. Seventeen interviews were conducted between July 24 and September 13, 2001 with women in the Madison, Wis. area about their homefront experiences during World War II. The women discuss their circumstances at the beginning of the war and how life changed for them; recreational activities; work; relationships; living conditions; reactions to war news; observations of how the war affected those around them; and other related topics.
