Tax certificate sale record, containing the certificate number; the name of the landowner; legal description of the land including the range, township, section, quarter, block, and lot; purchaser of the certificate; amount of tax including charges; and whether the certificate was cancelled, redeemed, or disposed of in another manner.

In the first part of Volume 2, 1857-1861, there is a record for the city of Kenosha for 1857 of the unpaid 1856 railroad tax. The entries are by ward, the tax being levied only on wards one, two, and three; and each entry was recorded in the manner described above.
