A description of medical care in Civil War hospitals in Missouri, Tennessee, Georgia, Indiana, and in Prairie du Chien and Madison, Wisconsin; written by Ole Grimstvedt, a Norwegian immigrant to the Town of Perry, Dane County, Wis., who enrolled in Company C, 12th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment under the name of Ole Olson and spent much time being treated for diseases and battle wounds. His account contains many anecdotes about army life and men he met while in service. This is a typewritten copy of the original owned by C. M. Grimstad.
