Photocopies of handwritten accounts (four parts) of the Civil War experiences of John Squires, a corporal in Co. K of the 10th Wisconsin Infantry, mainly concerning his being captured by and escaping from the Confederates several times, and his various imprisonments, most notably at Andersonville. Squires was originally from Kingston, Wis. The accounts were written for newspapers identified as the "Enterprise" (possibly of Markesan, Wis.) and the "National Tribune."
