Papers of Francis Doan Hole, a professor in the University of Wisconsin Department of Geography. Contains 1972 "Group Journal of the Peripatetic Seminar on Environment--Humanity Relationships," composed of short reports of observations and reactions by the students of the class on their walks around Madison, Wisconsin, and a covering letter from Hole. Also contains a history of the Madison Society of Friends, otherwise known as Quakers, of which Hole was a member as well as papers on the Madison World Affairs Center. Additionally contains a short biography on Hole's ancestor, David Allen Hole and oral history tape recordings on Francis Hole's experiences during World War II.
