In the first segment of this episode Charlie interviews John Hofmeister, the outspoken and outgoing president of Shell Oil Company, who discusses the need for a comprehensive energy policy for the United States in light of the country's aging energy infrastructure and the restrictions on oil exploration. In the second segment, Charlie interviews journalist Tina Kelley and Dr. Elizabeth Buckles, a pathologist at Cornell University, to discuss the mysterious death of thousands of hibernating bats in New York State. Researchers have yet to determine what is killing the bats.
