Description: Commonly called the Death Register Index and consisting of a statewide, computerized name index to the pre-1907 registrations of deaths on 29 sheets of computer output microfiche. Arranged alphabetically by name of deceased, the index shows the county, date of death, volume and page number where the death is recorded, and reel and frame numbers. The reel and frame number do not refer to the death registers available on microfilm. They refer to an earlier filming of the records. Patrons should only use the volume, page, and sequential numbers to access the death registers. This series is also available at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin as Series 2069.
