The paint system of Company X was slowing the product flow within the production system. Due to current line design and the lack of visual measures, current throughput was limited and current flow was not meeting the needs of the production system. Therefore a solution needed to be identified in order to effectively lay out the production line and design visual measures that would allow for increased flow as well as increased efficiency. Through the use of time studies the line design was changed in a way that would maximize the flow of products through this cell allowing for greater volumes of products to be shipped. The primary purpose of this project was to increase the number of products being shipped on a daily basis. The second was the labor resources that were opened up due to the fact that items will hung [sic] on the line in a more efficient and effective manner. Through freeing up these resources it allowed for focus on other areas of the production system that were bottle necking.
