Description: Tape recorded interview conducted on May 25, 1985 by Lee Smalley with John Houle in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Houle taught psychology, served as Chair of the Education and Psychology Department for five years, and was involved in Faculty Senate. During the interview, Houle discusses growing up in Menomonie, his uncle's bottling factory, his military career during World War II and the Korean War, his feelings against the war in Vietnam, his involvement with the Faculty Senate and Education and Psychology Department, and his philosophy of teaching.
