Tomas Borge, the only surviving member of the original Sandinista movement, is Minister of the Interior in the nine man National Directorate, the collective leadership that governs Nicaragua. Borge recounts his experiences during his internment under the Samoza regime. Explains the events which led to the formation of the revolutionary Sandinista movement and its rise to power in 1979. Also explores accusations made by the United States that the Nicaraguan Government is involved in activities that threaten to destabalise central America.

An account of the political struggle in Nicaragua, mainly through interviews with Sandinista leader Tomas Borge. Historical background leading up to the Sandinista revolution is discussed. Current problems of the new government are presented, in particular the United States build up of Contra forces in neighbouring Honduras.
