Nathanson, who graduated in 1989, talks of his experiences in moving from a homogenous upper class Jewish neighborhood in Skokie, Ill. to being the only Jewish student at UW--La crosse. He talks fondly of the natural beauty of La Crosse and its surrounding areas, his academic experiences, his teachers/mentors, the tremendous help and encouragement he received from his parents and a private tutor in overcoming dyslexia and the co-existence of Jewish and Christian religions in his home.
