"A thirteen part series of programs first broadcast on WLSU, Wisconsin Public Radio in 2006. These programs follow upon an earlier series which focused on the mid-twentieth century history of the Mississippi River, roughly pools 7, 8, and 9. Mississippi Memories II focuses on the more recent past, and thus explores a different set of relationships and experiences with and on the river. In broad terms, the transformation has been from a time when the river was an economic and social lifeline for local residents to now when its meaning is expressed in more therapeutic personal terms."
