Papers of a civil rights worker who taught in freedom schools in Ruleville and Indianola, Mississippi, including lessons, printed evaluations of education in Ruleville and the work of the freedom schools, copies of student compositions, and two editions of the students' newsletter. Additions include photocopied documents of Hexter's involvement with the Mississippi Summer Project in 1964, materials on political activities of COFO (the Council of Federated Organizations) and some of their published materials.
