This programme brings together a number of leading commentators and practitioners to discuss their views on how the teaching and learning of English in school should develop and progress in the future. The panel consists of Adrian Barlow, a senior examiner; Barbara Bleiman of the English and Media Centre in London; Sabrina Broadbent, teacher and novelist; Jamila Gavin, a children's author; Mark Reid, from the British Film Institute, and the writer and broadcaster Michael Rosen. The chair is Dr Bethan Marshall, lecturer in English Education at Kings College, London.The panel discusses creativity and inspiration, inclusion and diversity and how these themes interact with new technology, assessment, formal language teaching, set texts and spoken language.
