Detailed diaries of a young woman teacher in Conesus, Livingston County, New York. She describes school teaching, friends and family, illnesses and deaths, her faith, events around her. Activities include housework, knitting and sewing, visits, church activities, as well as teaching. She writes in detail of the death of her sister, Wealthy, in October 1866. She writes of her own illness, many doctor visits, and trying different medicines; she is ill for several months in 1867 and unable to teach.
