520 3_ $aThis research study explored and examined the relationship between personal religious orientation and its effect on Hmong traditional/cultural aspects. Key variables were collected from the Hmong people living in Sacramento pertaining to religious change for them. The research study investigated 51 Hmong respondents' reasons for religious change. The focus is concentrated on the impact of religious conversion, the effects religious conversion have on the Hmong family, and perspectives on Hmong traditional ritual practices. Research instruments used for the data collection were all survey questionnaires. Descriptive statistics and chi-square tests were utilized to analyze the data. Results indicate that religious change has brought a positive experience for the Hmong people who had converted to Christianity. Changes in religious practice have brought different perspective of the traditional Hmong rituals.
