The "Collection of Drawing Notebooks" makes public "what is hidden, kept in the intimacy of the pocketbook, of the workshop; they represent the first look the has artist of the surrounding world." This volume "presents to the reader a less known Anita, although no less intriguing: the Anita sketcher. Therefore the present volume bring together 92 works, selected as representative of the 22 drawing notebooks pertaining to the Collection of Visual Arts of the Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros (IEB-USP), donated by Anita's family in 1999 as part of the celebrations for the artist's birth centennial".--P.11. Anita Catarina Malfatti (b. Brazil 1889 -1964) was a pioneer artist who introduced European and American Modernism in Brazil in the first decades of the 20th century.
