In December 1979, 80 Namibian children between the ages of 3 and 8 years old were sent to East Germany from refugee camps in Namibia. The children spent 11 years in East Germany, going to German schools, learning German as their native language, singing German Christmas carols and growing up practically German. Upon Namibia's independence they were returned to Namibia, where they experienced culture shock. The film interviews several of these children, now young adults.
