Abstract: In his five 2011 interviews-conducted in August & October-with Troy Reeves, Mike Leckrone discussed his life in music, both in Indiana and at UW-Madison. Leckrone talked about the time periods-1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s-and the following topics: band; Butler University; Indianapolis, IN; UW-Madison Marching Band; student protests; the Sterling Hall Bombing; UW-Madison Athletics; UW-Madison 1993 football game in Japan; 1993 Tournament of Roses Parade; 1993 Rose Bowl; 1993 Wisconsin-Michigan football game; UW-Madison Pep Band; and the band's spring concert(s). He spoke in depth about the marching band, including tryouts and the band's hierarchy. This interview was conducted for inclusion in the Oral History Collection at the UW-Madison Archives.
