Abstract: In her 2011 interview with Jen Voichick, Lois Stauber details her life in Madison, WI. Stauber, influential photographer, carpenter, and business owner in Madison, spoke of her experience owning Apple Island a women's social space, popular within the city's lesbian community; her involvement with softball and other sports in Madison; and her battle with Ovarian Cancer and how that changed her spiritual and professional life. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the project Madison's LGBT Community, 1960's-Present, part of the UW-Madison Oral History Program's general collection.
