He changed the direction of praying in one of the big mosques in Kauman. This made an Islamic scholar gets very angry, His name was Kiai Penghulu Kamaludiningrat. Accused of teaching heresy, Ahmad Dahlan's mosque was knocked down. He was also accused being an atheist because he had his students sit on the chairs like students in the Dutch modern school. Later, Ahmad Dhalan built the organization called Muhamadiyah.
