"In 2000, UW-W Art Department Professor Susan Messer proposed a concept for an exhibition that would focus on women working in the field of metals. That original concept has evolved into the Women of Metal Project. The Project includes an oral history project, publications, educational presentations and an exhibition that will take place on the campus of UW-W this fall. Together with UW-Whitewater Art Department Professor and Metals Area Head Teresa Faris the pair has assembled a comprehensive survey of work by women metalsmiths with a relationship to Wisconsin"--P. 7.
