In his 2007 interviews with Robert Lange, Martin Cadwallader describes his childhood in England, his early education, and his undergraduate experiences in Sheffield. He talks of his graduate studies at UCLA in the United States, where he received his PhD in the field of quantitative geography. Cadwallader took a teaching position for a year at Portland State University, and after budget cuts, interviewed at UW-Madison. He discusses his position at UW-Madison and his becoming Dean of the Graduate School. This interview was conducted for inclusion in the UW-Madison Oral History Program.
