After a misadventure, wealthy Anita and poor Neeraj fall in love with each other. When Anita introduces Neeraj to her father, he rejects him, and asks Anita to marry a wealthy young man by the name of Anil Sharma. When Neeraj attempts to contact Anita, she refuses to meet him, and subsequently marries Anil. A heartbroken Neeraj re-locates to another town. Tragedy strikes the Sharmas, and Anita is killed during an auto accident. When Neeraj learns about her death, he is shocked. Then one day he is told that a woman resembling Anita is a dancer in a posh hotel. When Neeraj goes to meet her, she refuses to recognize him. Then Neeraj meets with a saffron-clad woman, also resembling Anita, this one living the life of a holy celibate in a distant ashram. She too refuses to recognize Neeraj. Intrigued by these turn of events, Neeraj decides to investigate further, not realizing that he is bring drawn into a labyrinth of lies and deception, which can only lead to his demise.
