This is a case book kept by Dr. Charles Orr from about 1881 to 1886 recording patient visits to his practice. The first half of the book is dedicated to ear and hearing cases and the second half of the book is dedicated to eye and vision complaints. The book was made by the Tower Manufacturing Co. Stationery and Blank Book warehouse, and is printed with blank lines for patient information, previous history, present condition and treatment and remarks. The majority of patients are noted as residing in Ohio, but some come from Indiana and further afield. The majority of entries are in one hand, in ink or pencil, though there are one or two instances of another hand adding comments at a much later date (1890's, see p. 49 for example). There are many sketches of eardrums and eyeballs, some in color.
