For the protagonist himself, the search for truth and nostalgia for a past full of quicksand and unsettled accounts, are interwoven in his journey through border cities, where crime includes both police forces and smugglers of human organs, drug traffickers, murderers and kidnappers of different ilks.

Pero este libro no responde al estereotipo de la novela negra, ya que en el mundo de Morgado, que va desde México D.F. hasta la frontera de Estados Unidos y el Estado mexicano, la justicia muchas veces se confunde con la venganza o el linchamiento.
