It is estimated that more than one hundred
sixty four Socialist organizations having different

objective have been established since the April

Revolution. Most of the newly established organiza-

tions devoted themselves 66 acquisition-of various
benefits and*to attain some political status by
ostensibly supporting the Revolution. However, some
of the Socialist organizations including the labor
unions were destroyed, step by step, by the instiga-~
tion and conspiracy of the left-wing parties. The
bereaved families of the pro-Communists killed during
the Korean War demanded that a memorial monument in
honor of the deceased pro-Communists be constructed
and that all officiels having strong anti-Communist
spirit be discharged from their positions. They
also advocated for the pro-Communistic unification
of Korea, return of installations in use by the
United States Armed Forces in Korea, and the over-
throwing of Premier Chang's Government, while
continuously distributing anti-American leaflets

and posters, Furthermore, they nominated a pro-
Communist to participate,as their leader, in the
disputes among political parties and strived for the
establishment of a Communist government by agitating
the innocent people and by abgravating disorder
among the public. For example, while there had been
