Highlighting the fall social
season this year was Centennial
Ball, sponsored by the Union to
celebrate the University's century
of progress.
The event marked the formal
reopening of Great Hall and the
redecorated Union building as a
whole. Elliot Lawrence and his
orchestra played for the 1,500 stu-
dents who attended, while the
Centennial court of honor, special
decorations, and dancing in Tripp
Commons and the Cafeteria to
Don Voegeli and Bob Arden add-
ed to the atmosphere.
Chairmen of the event were:
Mel Griem, general chairman;
Bob Pope, arrangements; Bill
Traut, finance; Felice Michaels,
promotion; Harry Paston, decora-
tions.
