Summary

• Attributed to the Salem pottery. This dish descended in the Hall family of Salem. The front is coated with a red engobe and decorated with green and white slip. Several Moravian dishes and plates have similar cavetto designs. Dish sherds with related leafage and tulip motifs have also been recovered at Salem sites. The mark “OV” was inscribed on the bottom before firing.
