- Svacina's saloon at the corner of Commercial and North Seventh Streets was operated by the Svacina family for several generations. Pictured here at the end of the 19th century, it typifies German and Bohemian taverns with its paper decoration on the chandelier. The photograph was taken by Melendy & Packard.
