This picture was taken in the morning of May 30, 1934, on the lawn of Mr. C. E. Dewey's home, when Mr. Leonard was on his way to take part in Kenosha's Decoration Day Service being held in Library Park, where he made a short speech and performed the act of scattering flowers for the "Unknown Dead". At the time of the photograph, he was the last surviving member of the Park City Greys, Kenosha's company of volunteers that became the first unit in uniform from Wisconsin in the Civil War.
