(2) There is probably &     a longer cycle -- Rowans cycle -- 
   which has the effect of making each periodic sal1ler drought 
   different from the next e.-. now larger than usual, and there- 
   fore reducing the total rain available at the peak years of 
   the cycle in either area. (Thus this time the switch is a bit 
   further nort.- than in 1921. 
 
To sum up: things will be bad for ducks but they will improve 
somewhat in the prusent worst area, and 6et somewnat worse in 
the n rth(thou1h not so bad as at present in trio south)
