                          I have Just seen by the Program of the 
             Society of American Foresters scheduled for Deogm- 
             ber 30 and 31, that you are to deliver a paper on 
             mvtwironmental Controls for Game Through Modified 
             Silviculture** This is a subject in which the 
             Virginia Forest Service is greatly interested at 
             this time, particularly since possibilities of 
             cooperation between the Forest Service and the 
             Commission on Game and Inland Fisheries are being 
             considered. It will be of great value to us if we 
             can have the information whiph I know will be con--,

                         Possibly you may be interested in learn- 
             ing of our" Plan for the Aoquisition and Management 
             of State Forests" which is now being given consider- 
             able publicity in this State. Th Plan has been 
             mimeographed for distribution and I am enclosing a 
             copy for your information. Any coments which you 
             might care to make in regard to this"Plkn' parti- 
             cularly pertaining to the effect which the consum- 
             atico of such a plan would probably have upon the 
             maintenance and propagation & fish and game through- 
             out the Statep will be appreciated.
