    BDe r 7r. Leopold:

I hope that yoi will pardon my slowness in acknowledging the
carbon copy
of your letter of Pecember 27 to r. PauJ G. Redington that reached me
several days
ago. It was very kind of you to write to Kr. liedington Li regard to
'. Lobdell.
I hope that :,r. Stoddard will make us a visit sometime in the near future.
We will
be very glad to see him at rany tine, and I am sure that -r. Lobdell
will especially
ajpreciate the opportunity of talking with him.

Because ir. Lobdell is so well informed on many differeirsubjects
and be-
cause of his enthusiasm, loyalty, ability, and other good characteristics,
he is
one of the most valuable men in our org nization and we do not care to
lose him.
However, Ls the work that you discussed when you were here is so narly
        is
anxious to do, and is just what he enjoys more than anything else, I believe
that
he would make a mistake if ke~id not go with you if the opportunity should
come his
way. I have not discussed this riatter with him since before Christmas,
but it is
my opinion tha>t he feels the same way. I know he is looking forvard
with much pleasure
to the irospect of meeting Mr. Stoddard.

The next time that you are in this section of the country, I
hope that
you will maoke it a oint to make us s-aother visit. It is not necessary
for me to
tell you that we enjoyed very mucl our conversations ith you.

If it is convenient for you to be in Houston, Texas on February
5, 6 and 71h
I am quite certain that you will enjoy attending the meetings of the
Association of
Southern Agricultural Workers. At this meeting you will probably have
opportunity
to talk with agricultural workers who are well acquainted with conditio-s
in allt f
the southern states. The headquarters of this association and all of
the affiliated.
organizations will be at the "ice notel. I will attend especially
the meetings of
the Southern i lant Board on February 5 and the eotton States Branch
of the American
"Association of Economic Entomologists on 1ebruary 6 and 7th.

                                                Very truly yours,
