OTHER INFORMATION: Ways - 1031; Civil War gunboat built by James B. Eads. On May 10, 1862 she was sunk in an engagement above Fort Pillow. She was in charge of Commander Stembel who got a minie ball through the mouth; first-master Hoel took over for him. Commander Stembel recovered. She was the flagship for Admiral Foote during the war and also for Admiral Lee during November -December of 1864 at Clarksville. After the Civil War she was moored near the mouth of the Cache River below Mound City, Illinois. She sank there in 1866
