Nyheun women and a young girl are pounding rice near one of the large rice storage sheds in the Nyaheun village of Lassasine (XB 7364) in Attapu Province. The older traditional sheds were stilt-built structures with a large round woven bamboo container placed on a raised frame. The more recent sheds are made of wood and covered by tin roofing and usually square in shape.
