Silver.—The 10 leading silver-producing mines in Nevada in 1941, listed
in the following table, produced 57 percent of the State total recoverable
silver; the first 2 yielded almost one-fourth of the total. As m preceding
years, most of the silver was a byproduct of ore mined chiefly for other
metals; only 21 percent was derived from straight silver ore.
