WORLD PRODUCTION

In consequence of the European War of 1939 and 1940, which expanded into
a world war involving the United States in 1941, the number of countries
releasing data on the production of coke decreased steadily. The statistics
submitted in table 45 are incomplete, as data from the principal producing
countries other than the United States are not available; however, Canada,
as well as the United States, surpassed the peak year of 1929 in the production
of coke.
