THE COMMUNITY FESTIVAL AND PAGEANT MOVEMENTS. I; 2 cr. The
relation of these artistic activities to the general problem of recrea-
tion and to their use as a social force. Problems of song leadership,
organization of informal musical groups, and the development of
musical programs, festivals, and pageants. Offered 1930-31 and in

SOLFEGGIO. Yr; 1 cr. Class and individual drill; independent, accu-
rate reading of all intervals of the diatonic scale; the more usual
chromatics and easier rhythmic patterns; writing of simple melodies

MuSICc EDUCATION FOR DANCE Magors. Yr; 1-2 cr. This course
aims to stress the elements of musical structure and interpretation,
to consider the various series of music texts and apply their material
to the needs of dance teachers, to build up a-repertory of music, and
to develop the correlation of music and dance through its various

ADVANCED SOLFEGGIO. Yr; 1 cr. Prerequisites: Music 1 and 71.
Class and individual singing of different unison and part music in-
volving all types of rhythms and intervals. Writing of two-part dic-

ORCHESTRA. Yr; 1 cr. Prerequisite: Ability to play some instru-
ment. Membership decided by try-outs. Open to entire student body.
Only after two semesters in the orchestra may a student register for
