The University of Wisconsin ROTC Rifle Team has maintained a very
high standard in the past. In 1928 it placed second in the Sixth Corps
Area rifle competition and eleventh in the National Intercollegiate matches.
The ROTC Rifle Team squad consists of the best shots in the corps. This
squad receives training in rifle shooting for about five months during the
school year. The team fires matches with all the leading schools and col-
leges in the United States.

The “Crack Squad” is a drill team composed of selected advanced course
students; it competes with teams from other institutions and also appears
in exhibition drills on occasions.

Scabbard and Blade is a national honorary fraternity of 75 chapters to
which cadet officers are eligible for membership. Company A, First Regi-
ment, was founded at this University in 1904.
