  • Treetops Lodge is the most famous "hide" in Kenya, and is in a forest clearing in the Aberdare Mountains. The original Treetops was built in a tree, but was burned down by the "Mau Mau." There is a pool below the lodge, along with some salt licks, and game are attracted to them day and night. Many famous people have visited Treetops including Princess Elizabeth who received word of the death of her father and of her accession to the throne while spending the night there.
