  • 08:15 Bird refuge in area, draws hunters every year (they hunt just outside the refuge part)
  • 10:55 Collecting bottles, Indian artifacts. Opening of homesteads in '20s to WWI vets
  • 12:25 Going to school—five-mile trip, no cars. Went to high school at University Farm School in Davis
  • 14:35 In France for WWI, saw some of it—made him eligible for a homestead
  • 16:55 National Farmers Organization—he likes idea of higher prices
