Dear M4ir. Mann:
I have your letter of arch 24th. In
reDly thereto, advise that after fifl.e years of experience
in atempting to make game birds of pheasants in the South-
eather states those of us who have been trying to have
reached the co'nclusion that although they can be produced
like domestic fowl in pens and yards, they will not be of
economic impottance as game birds when released in oar
fields and woodlands. The species ,hich have been ex'eri-
mented with in the Southeastern states are the Chinese,
English and rongollan pheasants.
If you will write Mr. Leo Beall,Selma, Ala.,
M1r. 0. 5. Landham, innIston, Ala., and 1r. S. T.,Wi1liams,
Talladega, Ala., you can obtain information in regard
to the raising of phealants, as each of these gentlemen
has had exp rience in this line.
We are now carrying on a final experiment
in liberating phcasants and enclose herewith a copy of the
Alabama G~me add Fish News, in which this exp-Ament is
mentioned.
Trusting theft this is the informtion you
desire and assuring you that if I can be of further service
to you, you have but to call on me, I am,
Very truly yours,
(Signed) I. T. 2uinn,
