A selection of student guidebooks and handbooks housed in the University of Wisconsin-Madison Archives. Titles include Wisqetiquette, YMCA and YWCA produced booklets, and other student handbooks aimed at helping students adjust to the campus environment.
These materials were created by different campus or Madison-based organizations and were made available to students. These guides provide detailed information about the campus calendar, locations and buildings, student daily life, extra-curricular activities, general University rules and regulations and other key subjects intended to educate incoming students. Some include campus maps, details related to social norms, humorous writings and photographs of iconic campus scenes and faculty members.
