Major R. Y. Stuart,
Forest Service,
Washington, D. 0.
Dear Major Stuart:
Your wire of April 10 crossed my letter of April
9 to Mr. Dodge of which I sent you a copy.
Mr. Dodge gave me to understand that a decision would be reached on the game
survey during the week ending April 7. Evidently this was not done. Hency
my inquiry of April 9.
I will summarize my plans as follows:
The Game Survey is my first choice, not because
I prefer the sabjeot matter, but for the reason I mentioned to you verbally.

If the ammunition people do not make me a satisfactory offer, I shall ask
the University whether they wish to carry me while I make a try at other
funds for founding a game research institution. Of course, this is a slim
chance on which the University may not Yrant to gamble.
