Milt Bliss reports onsite from Farmer's Field Day at the University Hill Farm near Madison where farmers and their families from all across the state have come to see the results of research at the State Agricultural Experiment Stations. This was the first Farm Field Day since 1942. Farm Field Day was planned by Experiment Station staff to acquaint farmers with findings that could be put to practical use in their present day agriculture. Bliss visits demonstrations such as the weed control clinic with George Briggs, a potato exhibit on sprouting with Mr. R.E. Vaughn of the Plant Pathology Department, an alfalfa insect control exhibit with Mr. John Medler and a rat control demonstration with [Jesse Scholl], both from the Entomology Department, and a barn drying demonstration with [H.D. Bruun] of the Agricultural Engineering Department. Bliss ends the report from the field away from University Hill Farms with a dust cropping by airplane demonstration for control of insects. E.H. Fisher from the Entomology Department provides the lecture for the demonstration.
