Visual display of the Art Deco boudoir doll

Art Deco boudoir doll

  • 1940-1949
  • Art Deco boudoir doll dressed in a pink satin gown. The skirt has two vertical stripes of ecru lace over rose fabric. The doll's face, neck, and lower limbs are composition and the body is made of fabric covered straw. The beret-style bonnet over the doll's short, silvery curls matches its gown. The shape of its face, its features, and its makeup give it an Art Deco look. It has deep, heart-shaped red lips, bright blue eyes, long, black lashes, thin, black brows with attached black eyelashes, and even a small beauty mark. The doll is 27" long.
  • From the private collection of Dovie Horvitz (2010.67.11).
