  • OTHER INFORMATION: Ways - T2587; Renamed W.P. Snyder, Jr. after being sold to Crucible Fuel in August 1945. She was a sister vessel of the W.H. Colvin, Jr. She towed coal from the Monongahela River mines to the Crucible mills at Midland, Pennsylvania from 1945 until the fall of 1953. In September 1953 she was laid up on the Monongahela River at Crucible, Pennsylvania. In the summer of 1955, Crucible Fuel gave the boat to the Ohio Historical Society for exhibit at the River Museum of the Sons and Daughters of Pioneer Rivermen at Marietta, Ohio. She was delivered under steam from Brownsville, Pennsylvania to Marietta during the week of September 12, 1955. She had a quarterboat in tow and around 100 invited guests. She was the last steamboat through Lock 1 on the Muskingum River and she tied up at the foot of Sacra Via at Marietta, Ohio on September 16, 1955. In 1989 the W.P. Snyder, Jr. was a last example of the steam, sternwheel towboat and was on display at the Ohio River Museum
