This pillow sham descended in the Evanson family of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. According to the records of the Mount Horeb Area Historical Society, Beret Syverud was born in Nordre Nrdal, Norway in 1838 and arrived in the United States with her family at the age of 10. In 1856 she married Harold Stugart and settled on a farm in the Town of Springdale, Dane County, Wisconsin. After the death of her first husband in 1875, she married Hans Evanson in 1882.
