Summary

• These sturgeon were purchased from fish bootleggers in the Wolf River territory in 1947. Sturgeon are tied in the manner shown which is known as "bowed." This is done to prevent movement of the fish. They are tied and stored in the river for weeks and when "bowed" lay quietly on the bottom.
